The Role

With Group IT-based in London and Manchester, we are expanding the in-house Azure Infrastructure team with a Unified Communications as a Service analyst to support the transformation and the future growth of the business within the Tech function. Following the successful lift & shift of servers and services to Azure, the role will understand the server architecture across the Group, and will oversee and manage the changes and support provided by third party providers and be primarily responsible for the ongoing running and maintenance of our Unified Communications platform. The role will be looking to modernise and simplify our environment, working with the architect function and third-party vendors to develop and deliver roadmaps towards automation and efficiencies across the environment.

The role is based in the Canopius Tech & Data hub in Manchester with occasional travel to the London office. Hybrid home working is supported.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring and responding to incidents across the Unified Communications Service.
  • Providing technical support to internal teams through trouble ticket resolution and escalation when necessary.
  • Performing emergency configuration changes across various components of the Unified Communications Service.
  • Conducting root cause analysis for production errors and maintaining Business Continuity schedules for the Unified Communications Service.
  • Implementing planned configuration changes for various components of the Unified Communications Service.
  • Identifying areas where Automation Frameworks are needed for maintenance and troubleshooting procedures and implementing them accordingly.
  • Pro-actively identify, always diagnose and resolve information and security issues while adhering to group policies and processes.
  • Follow change control procedures and submit/mange changes at the weekly Change Advisory Board (CAB).

Skills and experience:

  • Experience of supporting UCaaS solutions
  • Experience a similar technical environment and will be familiar with Incident, Problem and Change Management processes.
  • Incident Management
  • Experience supporting Voice Technology
  • Experience supporting Open-Source Web Servers
  • Linux and Windows Administration
  • Underlying voice protocols i.e. SIP, RTP/SRTP
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Excellent documentation skills
