Step into a rewarding role in our ‘Aerospace, Defence, Security and Technology’ (ADS&T) division. As a UX Consultant, you’ll stay challenged, providing key clients with day-to-day advice and working closely with a wide variety of Users and stakeholders across interesting and engaging projects. You’ll be trusted to advise, ideate, innovate, research and design next generational solutions and develop client recommendations.

Your purpose:

As a UX Consultant, working within our Technology Solutions Practice, you’ll be on the front lines: embedded in client projects to improve the delivery of emerging technology and solving business and user problems via technology development. Working closely with Users, Stakeholders and Scrum Development teams, you will be instrumental to the research, design and delivery of digital experiences to our prestigious clients; working with their end-user and customer communities to gather insights, produce prototypes and gather feedback on designs.

In this position, you’ll collaborate with various disciplines within the Technology Solutions practice to develop innovative solutions that fulfill users’ needs and bring delight to customers and clients. This will involve you championing and advocating User Centric/Human Centric approaches, working to ensure that solutions and functionality are based around valid User Needs. You’ll work in Agile/Scrum environments where you will lead

and facilitate workshops and research sessions, to understand User’s pain points, journeys and needs; before translating requirements into solutions using wireframes, prototypes and generating User Stories/Functional specifications working closely with developers.

What you can bring?

Essential:

  • Applying a user-centric design approach to digital and software projects, engaging closely with end users and stakeholders.
  • Experience in Agile or Scrum development environments.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to make compelling and clear design presentations.
  • Ability to lead collaborative co-creation and ideation sessions with multiple stakeholders.
  • Employing hypothesis-driven design methods.
  • Proficiently generating high-quality UX deliverables such as personas, journey maps, blueprints, and information architecture.
  • Demonstrating expertise in designing inclusive and accessible digital interfaces.
  • Establishing success metrics for digital products.
  • Support teams to put the user at the centre of decision making
  • Producing wireframes, interactive prototypes, functional specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, and interactive prototypes utilising appropriate software tools (such as Figma, FigJam, DevOps, Mural).
  • Establishing success metrics for digital products.
  • Planning and leading user research sessions to gather insights and requirements, effectively communicating findings to client stakeholders through compelling narratives.
  • Collaborating effectively within multi-disciplinary teams and engaging with end users to comprehend, research, and design digital solutions.
  • Be able to work with stakeholders to produce accessible solutions to problems. Desirable:

· Experience in designing services that comply with the GDS (Government Service Standard).

· Experience of working in complex policy or service environment and applying strategic user-centred approaches to end-to-end design

· Relevant qualifications or certifications in UCD.

· Previous consulting experience: a track record in client engagement and delivery.
