The Purpose:
We are currently seeking a VAT Specialist to join our Tax team. This role is part of the Global Finance team to manage our VAT compliance. We are looking for someone who has strong technical knowledge and experience in VAT and indirect tax, thrives on process improvement, and enjoys working in a challenging, fast-paced environment to support our continued success. You will be part of our Accounting & Tax team that is composed of other passionate accounting professionals located in Munich, Frankfurt, London, Luxembourg, Mexico City, Sao Paolo and Singapore.
What you’ll be doing:
- Managing and overseeing the entire VAT process, including reviewing and processing tax returns and VAT declarations for the European PPRO entities
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant tax regulations and rules related to VAT
- Advising management and relevant departments on VAT issues and risks
- Supporting the CESOP reporting activities and independent handling of the submission process
- Conducting internal training and workshops to raise awareness of VAT matters
- Analyzing business transactions and identifying potential tax risks, as well as developing and implementing appropriate measures to mitigate risks
- Collaborating with external tax advisors and authorities during audits and other tax matters
- Evaluating tax strategies and processes to identify potential optimization opportunities
You’ll need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Tax Law, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the VAT field, preferably in a large company or a tax consultancy firm
- Solid knowledge of relevant national and international VAT regulations and rules
- Ability to analyze, interpret, and communicate complex tax issues effectively
- Experience working with tax authorities and external auditors
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
