Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Veterinary Clinician in Infectious Disease to join our enthusiastic Infectious Diseases group in Veterinary Diagnostic Services (VDS) within the Division of Pathology, Public Health and Disease Investigation (PPHDI) in delivering a wide range of clinical and scholarly activities.

You will contribute to the delivery of an infectious diseases diagnostic service with a focus on companion animals and teaching undergraduates and postgraduates. You will also carry out associated tasks as requested by the Head of Division/Clinical Director to contribute to the School/College objectives and to achieve national and international excellence in clinical service, teaching and research.

We welcome applications from candidates who hold a Veterinary degree registerable with the RCVS and experience of veterinary clinical practice.

VDS is based within the School of Biodiversity, One Health and Veterinary Medicine at the University of Glasgow. In addition to providing an independent and supportive diagnostic service, we are involved in a range of academic activities including teaching both veterinary and veterinary bioscience students, providing postgraduate training opportunities (residencies) and supporting research studies in the University and beyond.

Veterinary Medicine has been rated 1st in the UK Times & Sunday Times Good University Guide. It has an excellent international reputation in teaching, clinical services and research and is accredited by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS), the European Association of Establishments of Veterinary Education (EAEVE) and the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA).

This post is part time, 14 hours per week to cover maternity leave for up to 12 months or until the substantive postholder returns.
