Job description: Ward Clerk position on an acute geriatric and palliative/ end of life ward at the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital in Margate, Kent. Main duties to include working as a team member within the work environment carrying out assigned tasks involving the indirect care of patients in support of, and supervised by the ward manager. We are looking for the applicants to be able to work within a team providing vital administration cover for the unit which will include the booking of transport, coordination of outpatient procedures and ordering of supplies. IT knowledge and EKHUFT systems experience essential.Main duties of the jobWorking with a large friendly team to ensure that patients are safely, admitted, transferred and discharged accurately.Answering the phone from different departments, members of the multi disciplinary team and relatives of patients on the Unit, providing a professional response at all times.Having good knowledge of the various admin systems that are in use within the Trust (Training will be provided.)Responsible for self, allocated workload and timemanagement.Directly managed by the Ward Manager and accountable to the unit.About usWe are one of the largest hospital trusts in England, with fivehospitals and community clinics serving a local population of around 800,000 people.
