Job description: To work as a team member within the work environment carrying out assigned tasks involving the indirectcare of the patients, to ensure effective management of the department on a day to day basis.o To provide a comprehensive administrative service to the Maternity Triage Team and ward areas.o Support and assist in the effective management of the service on a day to day basisClinicalo Ensure privacy and dignity of patients is maintained at all times.o Minimise risk of harm to patients, staff and visitors by working according to risk management policies.o Participate in the orientation of new staff to their duties and the ward routine.o Assist in measurement of care by contributing to data collection for quality metrics.o Work to eliminate avoidable infection by working according to infection control policies.o Demonstrate consistent high standard of hand hygiene practice and promote standards to staff, visitorsand patients.Main duties of the jobMaintain accuracy and legibility of patient records in accordance with trust policy.o Input and update data on the computer system.o Maintain accurate case note tracking.o To file all patient information accurately in health records.o Answer the telephone in a courteous and timely manner.o Ensure accuracy in taking and relaying messageso Booking patient transport.o Arrange outpatient appointments as appropriate in line with government and local targets.
