Job description: Our client is a furniture wholesaler and a one stop shop for great value flat-pack furniture. They design, manufacture, distribute and delivery directly to end customers. They are currently looking for a Warehouse Assistant to join their dedicated team on a part time temp to perm basis.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience within a warehouse role, have excellent customer service skills, be computer literate with a good knowledge of Excel, have a good attention to detail, be able to work independently as well as in a small team.

As a Warehouse Assistant you will undertake general warehouse duties including receiving delivery of stock, checking for damaged or missing items, moving stock by hand or with machines, stock control and ensuring items are ready for customer collection. Once the right candidate has proven to be reliable, this role will become a managerial role within the Warehouse.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualities:

  • Demonstrable experience within a warehouse role
  • Have excellent customer services skills as well as a good telephone manner
  • Be computer literate with a good knowledge of Excel
  • Have a good attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a small team
  • Be able to complete paperwork and take stock
  • Awareness of Health and Safety in the work place
  • Due to this role involving heavy lifting, the ideal candidate must be physically fit
  • Hold a valid Full UK Driving Licence

Your duties as a Warehouse Assistant would be:

  • Receiving delivery of stock
  • Checking for damaged or missing items
  • Moving stock by hand or with machines
  • Stock control
  • Ensuring items are ready for customer collection
  • Assisting customers at collection
  • Data entry
  • Maintaining the warehouse in a clean and tidy manner
  • Reporting directly to company owner

Salary:

£12.50 per hour

Hours:

  • Monday – Friday, 12pm – 5pm
  • Temp to Perm

(Due to an increase in orders throughout the year, more hours will become available but remain flexible)

St Leonards on Sea, East Sussex

Start Date:

ASAP

Expected salary: £11.5 – 13 per hour
