Job description: First Choice Staff are hiring for a Duty Manager for a warehouse based in Ashford, Surrey.
Duties:
To manage a team of Warehouse Operatives including all HR formalities.
Always uphold companys Health & Safety standards and policies.
Accurate Inbound & outbound handling of shipments in a timely manner.
Data entry into the Rhenus systems in an accurate and timely manner.
Screening via metal detection Xray, FREDDS and ETD machine.
Preparing cargo for dispatch, including the handling of temperature sensitive shipments.
Overseeing of Warehouse and administration duties as required.
Ownership of the shift, including liaising with transport companies and airlines and agencies when required.
Handling of temperature-controlled shipments, as well as general cargo and other specialized services (e.g Dangerous Goods etc).
Key Competencies:
Knowledge of freight forwarding, Experience in a fresh environment is advantageous.
Counterbalance and Reach forklift licenses beneficial.
Must attend training for Fire Marshal and / or First Aider.
Ability to run a successful night shift operation.
Competent in using hand-held scanners and electronic stock management systems as well as the Microsoft package.
Must have a flexible approach and the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities within the business.
Experience of working in a cold chain environment is beneficial

Night Shifts 23:00 – 07:00
