Job description: The Warehouse Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining a safe, productive and accurate Warehouse operation to enable the smooth flow of materials in and out to meet Production requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Through effective leadership and training/development of the Warehouse team, working collaboratively with other Company Departments to:
- Lead the Warehouse operation and manage people to meet business requirements.
- Responsible for the Health and Safety of workers, contractors and visitors to the area, by ensuring that workplace risks are identified, safe systems of work and storage are in place and Health and Safety rules are complied with at all time.
- Adhere to all Quality System requirements and ensure policies and procedures are being followed including any required inspections of incoming materials.
- Ensure all stock recording and traceability requirements are met, with clearly defined procedures in place and followed to make sure that stock location and quantity is mirrored accurately in real time in the MRP system.
- Supply and return of materials to and from the Production process, in line with the weekly production plan, working with the Production Team to ensure the most efficient flow of materials and accuracy of the Kitting process.
- Maintain a well organised workplace, with high standards of housekeeping, to enable achievement of targets and promote a positive image of CyDen’s Warehouse Operation.
- Confirm stock accuracy through monthly cycle counting and annual stock counts with our key customer.
- Ensure that warehouse equipment is regularly checked and effectively maintained.
- Ensure that staff respect Waste Management procedures and identify and implement actions to minimise waste on site as well as working closely with our Key Customer on the scrapping of obsolete materials.
- Operate in accordance with agreed financial budgets and promote a culture of cost dfficiency and continuous improvement.
- Provide and maintain appropriate Key Performance Indicators to monitor the effectiveness and efficiency of warehouse operations.
- Ensure all external delivery/distribution drivers and any visitors to the area follow company rules and safety instructions.
- Liaise with HR to ensure that correct people processes are followed at all times, ensuring all team members know what is expected of them and have the tools to succeed.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Essential
- Previous experience of working in a senior warehouse role
- Good understanding of MRP systems, preferably SAP
- Previous experience of managing and motivating people
- LEAN manufacturing experience
- Understanding of health and safety laws and how they impact a warehouse environment
- Previous experience of working to ISO:9001 standards
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, think on your feet and adapt to change quickly
- Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to present information clearly
Desirable
- Previous experience of working to ISO:13485 standards
- LSS qualification
- IOSH qualification
