About my client
My client is a leading Packaging supplier known for its commitment to customer service and operational efficiency. They are currently seeking a Warehouse Manager to join the team and oversee our 12,000 sq ft warehouse operations.
Duties and Key Responsibilities:
As a Warehouse Manager, you will be responsible for a team of 5 staff and ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of their warehouse. Your key responsibilities will include:
Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of 5 staff in our 12,000 sq ft warehouse.
Customer Service Excellence: Maintain and enhance a standard of customer service excellence.
Order Dispatch: Ensure prompt dispatch of orders within 48 hours of receipt (with a same-day target).
Efficiency Improvement: Maintain and improve recorded pick speeds, and continuously monitor and enhance KPIs.
Inventory Management: Manage the stock system, both internally and at our external sites.
Logistics Supervision: Supervise incoming deliveries and outgoing couriers.
Safety and Housekeeping: Maintain good housekeeping within the warehouse and uphold all aspects of Health & Safety.
Staff Management: Handle all warehouse staff issues and disciplinaries, conducting regular informal 1-2-1s to ensure staff development.
Supplier and Budget Management: Review costs of all suppliers and couriers, ensure optimal pricing and service, and manage warehouse budgets.
Space Management: Limit the need for external warehousing through excellent bulk space management.
IT Reporting: Learn and develop IT reporting capabilities to improve output.
Peak Season Planning: Plan and prepare for peak seasons.
Process Improvement: Conduct regular reviews of all warehouse procedures and recommend improvements where appropriate, maintaining all warehouse process documents.
Team Development: Engage, coach, and develop the warehouse/production team.
Collaboration: Establish and maintain a good working relationship with the Sales Office to enhance the customer experience.
Ad Hoc Responsibilities: Perform ad hoc analysis and reviews of processes and Glick presentations at the request of the Director.
Facility Maintenance: Oversee maintenance of building and site facilities.
General Responsibilities:
In addition to the key responsibilities, the Warehouse Manager will also have the following general responsibilities:
Security and Access: Act as a key holder and be responsible for securing the building in the evening and opening it in the morning.
Leave Management: Authorise holiday forms for direct reports.
Sickness Monitoring: Monitor sickness records for direct reports and report any overtimes to the payroll clerk.
