We are recruiting for a Warehouse Operative to join a well-established, close-knit contractors based on the outskirts of St. Albans.
Our client provides high-end flooring to major house builders such as Berkeley Homes and Barratt London and has grown to become one of the leading flooring contractors in the UK!
As a Warehouse Operative you will play a crucial role in the efficient operation of the warehouse, ensuring the accurate and timely handling of goods. Your responsibilities will include receiving, storing, and dispatching products, maintaining inventory records, and contributing to a safe and organized work environment.
Due to the location, you need to be a driver
This role is 100% office based

Key responsibilities:
Receive incoming shipments and verify the accuracy of the delivered goods
Inspect items for damages and report discrepancies
Document and record received goods in the inventory management system
Safely store products in designated locations within the warehouse
Maintain an organized and clean warehouse space to facilitate efficient operations
Ensure proper labelling and documentation of stored items
Pick products based on customer orders or requisitions
Pack items securely for shipping, ensuring accuracy and completeness
Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper handling of goods
Conduct regular stock checks to ensure accurate inventory levels
Update and maintain inventory records in the system
Follow established quality control procedures and adhere to safety protocols and guidelines
Report any safety concerns to the supervisor
Work closely with team members to achieve daily operational goals
Communicate effectively with supervisors and other departments
What the employer is looking for:
Previous warehouse experience is preferred
Basic computer skills for inventory management
A team player with great initiative
Ability to operate warehouse equipment is preferred
Physical ability for lifting and moving heavy items
Due to location, driving licence and car is required
