Accommodate the requirements of our Aylesford operation and achieve the necessary service levels whilst operating with the legal limits.Monitoring daily operational targets / KPIs ensuring these take into account Company standards and agreed Customer service level parameters during your shift.Shift: Wednesday – Saturday, 07.00-19.00Salary: Up to £43,000 per annum (dependent on experience)Key Duties of a Warehouse Shift Manager:

  • The role-holder will be required to be responsible for and undertake the following tasks:
  • Identify the training and development needs for departmental Team Leaders and coach/organise/oversee solutions using own knowledge and company training tools.
  • Ensure all practices and procedures are carried out in line with legislation and Company Health & Safety policy and HACCP
  • Monitor and control costs and proactively manage them against budget
  • To liaise closely with Site Operational Managers in Aylesford to ensure understanding of each others issues, joint resolution of problems and achieve efficiencies between the departments
  • To ensure staff rotas are updated and correct levels of staffing are used.
  • To ensure that stock counting and control procedures are followed and that stock counts are completed in an accurate and timely manner as per customer requirements.
  • Ensure that company standards of hygiene and housekeeping are maintained at all times
  • Ensure that M.H.E. check / inspection procedures are followed.
  • To attend management meetings as appropriate and produce management reports and statistics as requested.
  • To liaise regularly with operations and all other departments and sites to develop strong working relationships.
  • Maintain department discipline including time keeping, conduct and performance using the Company disciplinary policy and procedures with the support of HR and escalating issues when necessary.
  • Oversee the effective application of the Company absence policy and procedures including monitoring of absence levels and conducting return to work discussions.

QualificationsEssential:

  • Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent
  • 3-5 years Management experience within a warehouse environment
  • Shift Labour Planning
  • Previous experience of strong people management
  • Warehouse health & safety legislation
  • Operational methods and procedures relating to the FMC industry
  • Customer service experience
  • Excellent Communicator
  • Proven track record of working to Key Performance Indicators
  • High level of IT skills such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Desirable:

  • Understanding/Qualification of IOSH Institute of Safety Health
  • Process improvement qualifications
  • Stock management techniques
  • Experience of using Manhattan WMS system
  • Warehouse Auditing and BRC compliance
