DHL, award winning leading supply chain business is seeking a Warehouse Shift Manager to play a vital role coordinating our daily logistics requirements. To succeed in this role, you should have a comprehensive knowledge of supply chain management practices and a demonstrative understanding of warehouse procedures, including the storage and dispatch of volume orders and goods.
WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?
- Be responsible for maintaining excellent Health and safety standards within the warehouse operation, conducting full detailed investigations into all incidents, accidents and near-miss issues
- Communicate Objectives & KPIs applicable to your team, align the expected frequency for tracking them and how the results are calculated
- Conduct leadership performance meetings, discussing the shift’s needs and priorities, ensuring that actions are taken by your team and/or support areas
- Driving the reward and recognition programme in your area of responsibility
- Responsibility for developing team members and managing performance within guidelines, with resource support as appropriate
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, and code of conduct is maintained at all times.
- Building strong relationships with own team, Transport, suppliers, delivery locations and customers, for the benefit of the network, service and costs
- Ensure adequate resources for the delivery of best-in-class service against known/unknown volumes
- Ensure the team is fully trained and new members are professionally inducted and trained to a high standard
WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?
- 3+ years of experience in the logistics industry is essential
- Previous experience in transport/ warehouse management is required
- Sound knowledge of health and safety
- Good knowledge of Microsoft applications (Excel in particular)
- Ability to work well under pressure (Essential)
- Flexibility to work extended hours to meet the needs of the business
