Ideal Recruit are looking for a Warehouse Stock Control Manager to join our client’s company in Skelmersdale. The successful candidate will be part of a fast-paced role working closely with the support of senior management and the company HR function. The Warehouse Stock Control Manager will be responsible for ensuring all the stock is processed in a timely fashion, ensuring the physical stock accurately reflects quantities detailed within their SAP database, accurately placing stock in locations that optimize efficient picking, managing damaged, out of date stock and stock rotation appropriately to secure a successfully functioning Warehouse.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and plan for goods that are expected to be delivered from suppliers including planning their put away locations in the on-site warehouse.
  • Measure and maintain quantities per locations, reviewing the frequency of pick visits to each location to ensure maximum efficiency for pickers.
  • Reviewing the layout of product locations and allocating new products a location.
  • Manage and maintain the external storage facilities, being mindful of business cost to return or send items to the external storage facilities.
  • Continually reviewing and ensuring that all space is efficiently used to maintain a productive Warehouse including creating an efficient warehouse location plan.
  • Assisting with the reception and put away of goods inwards when necessary.
  • Proactively ensuring that open Purchase Orders are communicated to the Warehouse Administrators, Team Leaders and Purchasing team where appropriate.
  • Proactively ensuring that the Warehouse Team are instructed to conduct replenishment drops as and when required.
  • Conducting full check of stock in accordance with the planned schedule along with regular checking of individual lines.
  • Selecting appropriate alternative items for shorted customers and communicating alternatives selected across the business.
  • Conducting physical checks ensuring that short stock levels reported match the physical stock.
  • Planning for the storage of goods off-site and collaborating with Purchasing to source external storage.
  • Conducting regular reviews of expiration dates and giving priority to date sensitive products.
  • Ensuring any goods identified as damaged are removed from general pick locations and working collaboratively with the Warehouse team ensuring a decision is made as to whether the stock should be destroyed or relocated for resale.
  • Proactively minimise mis-picks by correcting product descriptions where the physical item does not reflect database records.
  • Working with leaders in the business, ensuring improvement through reviewing incidents and mistakes.
  • Proactively finding solutions where incidents are repeated.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience working in a Warehouse environment at management level across an inbound and outbound multi-shift Operation (desired)
  • Have Health and Safety awareness ideally NEBOSH/IOSH trained (desired)
  • Have good time management skills with the ability to set priorities, fulfil critical tasks in time and keep to deadlines.
  • Have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to collaborate with managers across the business.
  • Good multi-tasking abilities
  • Have a hands-on approach in all duties
  • High level of numeracy, literacy, and IT skills (SAP knowledge desired)
  • Problem-solving skills and an abi

Expected salary: £38000 per year
