Warehouse Team Leader
Monday – Friday, 05:00 – 13:30
£26,000 + Overtime

We are currently seeking a Warehouse Team Leader to join a dynamic team. This role involves overseeing day-to-day operations, leading a team, and ensuring efficient and safe warehouse activities. The details of the position are as follows:

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate staff allocation at the beginning of each shift to ensure smooth operation execution.
  • Conduct start-of-shift briefings for the team.
  • Ensure timely conversion of scans and printing of picks according to work instructions.
  • Supervise all warehouse operations, ensuring they are completed safely and in adherence to processes.
  • Manage the splitting and collating of picks to optimize manpower.
  • Populate and update the dispatch whiteboard as needed.
  • Foster positive relationships across all operational areas.
  • Take a hands-on approach to cover operational gaps, maintaining maximum production flow.
  • Optimize vehicle loading to maximize space and reduce costs; collaborate with drivers and Solihull for coordination.
  • Ensure accurate closure of production orders on scanners and investigate discrepancies.
  • Act as the first point of contact to resolve warehouse issues, mentoring and developing warehouse staff.
  • Report near misses and investigate errors.
  • Assist the MHE trainer with new staff inductions.
  • Report and coordinate the repair of MHE.
  • Contribute to the development and launch of new processes.
  • Learn basic administration tasks as a backup to full-time operations administrators.
  • Assist with health and safety and quality issues as required.
  • Participate in staff performance reviews, back-to-work interviews, disciplinary matters, and recruitment.
  • Demonstrate consistent leadership and a positive attitude.
  • Ensure the proper use of PPE and adherence to health and safety standards.
  • Maintain high standards of warehouse housekeeping.

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of team leadership experience.
  • Previous warehouse experience, preferably with scanners.
  • Previous MHE experience.
  • LLOP or HLOP preferable.
  • Understanding of warehouse goods-in processes from previous experiences.
  • Excellent man management and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Lead by example with a positive attitude and good attendance.
  • Enthusiastic, can-do attitude.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Basic knowledge of health and safety.

The role requires flexibility at times to work weekends. Overtime is payable on a Saturday and Sunday
