Job description: Sodexo Live! are seeking a Waste and Cleaning Operations Supervisor. You will be working as part of the team at the Ascot Racecourse where we are committed to providing our guests with an outstanding experience whether they come to race, hold a business meeting, or host a private dinner at our world-class venue.You will be responsible for overseeing the standard daily cleaning and the conference & event cleaning schedules and ensuring that cleaning tasks are carried out within budget. You will supervise a team of Cleaning & Waste operatives and ensure they are fully trained in applicable procedures and have met the Sodexo Bronze award in cleaning. As a Waste and Cleaning Operations Supervisor, you will undertake internal audits to measure and document KPI performance and ensure corrective actions are taken when necessary. You will also ensure that all Sodexo and Client site rules and regulations are followed when carrying out cleaning tasks and maintain stock levels of all consumables and chemicals on site. Additionally, you will monitor heavy duty cleaning equipment and ensure that only trained operatives use them.MAIN RESPONSIBILITIESTo supervise the segregation, storage and timely removal of all wasteTo supervise the external waste contractors and ensure they operate in a legally compliant and safe manner at all times including retaining copies of all appropriate waste licencses and Duty of Care documentationTo ensure the service yard waste area is maintained in a safe, controlled and hygienic manner at all timesTo ensure that all waste operatives are appropriately trained and comply with all legal obligations associated with their roleIn conjunction with the Head of Soft Services plan and implement the raceday waste operations across site, including preparation of areas and post event waste collections, and scheduling/ training of agency staffIn conjunction with the Head of Soft Services implement programmes to champion correct recycling across site in order to increase recycling to 60% and decrease general waste To ensure all aspects of the Cleaning service with regards to Daily Areas and Conferences & Events are carried out and maintained to the required standardManage the stock levels and controls for consumables and chemicals. This includes washroom consumables accessed by the raceday cleaning contractorCreate and maintain detailed cleaning instructions and schedules for all areas with the Daily Areas/ Conferences & Events areasTHE IDEAL CANDIDATE To succeed in this role, you must have experience in supervising cleaning and waste operations and be familiar with Health & Safety and Environmental Legislation as well as having technical clearing knowledge. Industry acumen and knowledge of cleaning systems and methodology is also essential. You will have the ability to meet deadlines, maintain accurate records as well as communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
