The farm enjoys excellent facilities including a 50/50 Fulwood parlour with backing gate, excellent handling facilities and cow flow, many automated features and equipment and a high degree of mechanisation all within a well laid out farm footprint. The block calved herd is cubicle housed on mattresses and sawdust in modern, bright, airy sheds, is fed a TMR ration and milked twice per day achieving exceptional yields. Working alongside the farm owners and heading up the team you will undertake the day-to-day management of the herd and the staff. You will ensure the farms exceptional performance is maintained and further enhanced through proactive management of the cows and the team. You will work closely with the vets, nutritionists, and advisors, leading by example and undertaking your role with a hands-on approach. Fertility, foot health, herd health and vaccinations will be under your remit alongside daily record keeping and staffing rotas. The successful candidate will have experience in a similar role, a proven track record of performance and will be an excellent communicator, keen to develop and motivate the team through their approach and by example.
