As part of our vision to transform housing services the Housing Needs & Homelessness Service has recently been redesigned. We have a number of roles and are seeking dynamic and collaborative individuals to join our team to provide the best possible service to support tackling homelessness in Croydon. As a Contract Management Officer, you will deliver a temporary accommodation contract, and compliance management service ensuring providers are compliant when property offers, and services are made.

About the role:

· To resolve often contentious issues relating to property condition and management issues, achieving an informal resolution wherever possible with service users and managing agents

· To carry out inspections and visits to all forms of accommodation provided to homeless households and assess them to ensure that they meet the property standards and specifying works to be carried out.

· Ensure that Providers manage all disrepair in respect to temporary accommodation in accordance with the contract specification

· Conduct inspections with accommodation providers in and out of borough.

About you

· Knowledge health and safety rating system and other health and safety regulations (gas, electric, and energy efficiency certification. FRAs etc.).

· Knowledge of private rented sector housing market and contracts, particularly the issues affecting private rented sector customers and landlords and homeless households.

· Understanding of contract terms and enforcement procedures

· Experience inspecting accommodation to ensure compliance with property standards.
